Duncan MacSwan was my Mother’s 1st Cousin who I met a few times as a little girl. His Uncle John that he mentions in this wonderful article was my Grandfather who unfortunately, I never met. I am so interested in tracing my Ancestry and discovering where they spent their early years but as a beginner and never having been further than Kyle of Lochalsh, do not know where to start:)

Hi Patricia, I replied to you but seem to have lost it, did you get a previous reoply? Bill

Hi Patricia, I see what happened!!! Try starting with Charles Macleod’s book South Rona: the Island and its People. It is available I think in the Raasay Shop?I am in fact putting together material for the museum here to-day and was just re-reading the article. You could visit us for a week in one of our cottages or come over on the boat trips that come here. Mv Sealower and MV Stardust both operating out of Portree. Do you have any photographs? Or written material on Rona yourself? Bill

Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I will look out for the book when I make plans for the trip. I only have a couple of pictures of my relatives, Great Aunt Mary being one of them. I would love to make a visit / that would be a wonderful connection:)
