Couple for Caretaking

On Unique Island Estate

A beautiful & remote Scottish island estate off the North West coast Scotland, accessible only by boat, is looking for an enthusiastic couple to join our current team (and population) of two! Initially seasonally, the eventual aim is to recruit staff to succeed the island manager and partner year round.

You should be hands-on, energetic and proactive – capable of working out what needs to be done and then doing it and perform any ad hoc duties that might be requested indoors and out. The ideal couple will be flexible, service-minded with good communication skills

You must understand that initially there is a lot to learn and so must take instruction well but for the right couple this will be rewarded with an amazing opportunity to help develop & shape the island’s future.

THE POSITION 
The work will include
maintaining & housekeeping for the island’s 3 holiday cottages & grounds, & your own accommodation
general island maintenance of paths, woodland & infrastructure
maintenance of the island off grid energy & water systems
maintenance of island vehicles & plant
assistance with livestock – our small flock of sheep & hens
assisting with the island venison business with stalking parties, and venison production,
developing our island produce and pop up café/restaurant opportunities in liaison with the manager
providing hospitality to guests & day visitors
boat handling
Preference will be given to those who have experience of at least some of the above, as there are a lot of different skills to learn! The current manager will be developing the food side of island business eg venison, cooking, livestock etc but would be delighted to have enthusiastic assistance in these areas.

Accommodation is provided in the island Lodge situated by the sea with outstanding views, scenery & wildlife. If you like nature then this is a wonderful place to live and work.

Remuneration will be offered commensurate with your skills & experience, and also includes accommodation & utilities.
